MANOLO VALDES

Manolo Valdes was born in 1942 in Spain and is now an artist who lives in New York. He specialises in paint, sculpture and using mixed media such as collage and etching. He combines humour and irony with political and social responsibility and is inspired by the likes of Picasso and Matisse.

Manolo Valdes' style lends it hand to the artisan trend with his use of custom repair and embellishment to complete a product. It is quite similar to the patchwork technique people would use in the past to mend wear and tear in their uniforms.
