PAUL HARNDEN

Paul Harnden is one of my favourite designers when it comes to innovative tailoring and construction. Canadian born, Harnden now resides in Brighton and was originally a shoemaker for 25 years before starting his clothing line 'Paul Harnden Clothiers' in the year 2000. He uses traditional manufacturing techniques to create his collections, which are clearly inspired by the Pre-Industrial Revolution and Civil War. English heritage and the amish style also shows through in Harnden's work with smart tailoring, clean silhouettes and rough fabrics.

Harnden has collaborated with the likes of Comme Des Garçons and John Galliano has said about the designer, "He's an English boy.. he's very Greta Garbo. He does rough kind of tweed and stuff. I buy all my stuff from him."
